Dos as in 2... this picture is based around that very concept. Although, it's not because of the two "subjects"... or the process which involved there generally being two of most objects... it's really because every base object is made of only *2* (yes, two) nodes. Basically the process was making 2 node objects and either cloning and mirroring or just overlaying to achieve the more "complex" objects (such as stars, lashes, etc).
This piece is very simple visually, but I don't think that's a bad thing (and it was a bit more time consuming to make than you might assume too). I'm actually quite fond of it. Yes, I know the crescent moon isn't accurate, but it looked much weirder with the stars missing from where the other part of the moon would be blocking them.
adorable yes, maybe a little bit of color... i agree, light blue would be lovely..or a little bit of morning hue..or dawn? getting paler and paler across the vault of heaven
anyway...it's great. a simple idea has created a cleancut work. i adore it
oh, and i like how the moon and the thick hairlines on the right have created a flow..
And the installer for Inkscape (for Windows) is under 9 megs, so not too big. It is also available for Linux and Mac OSX as well (though I don't know the filesizes for those offhand). And good news... there are no trials, it's open source and free for the real deal. The only thing I will warn about is that it can get pretty greedy with system resources, specifically RAM... but we're making optimizations all the time (I'm one of the developers). Have fun! (oh, and if you look in my sig you'll see the links to go download Inkscape as well as for the Inkscapers group here on DA)
I have to admit that I know absolutely nothing about vector art. What I do know, however, is that I like this. And that I found it amusing to think what the piece would look like if the woman's lips and the cat's (including whiskers) were exchanged

Colours: maybe a bit of light blue in the background...
Shapes: great!
Anything else?: that program... Inkscape... is it very heavy? i wanna download a trial or something x3 i saw many good art made with this program.
