Wow is that an even MORE clever title. This is v2 of my vector tribute to "Whisper's First Cover" by ~Faryndreyn. This is the artistically modfied version of "Whisper's First Vector". As you can see it was mostly shading, but there were also some modifications to lines and positions of objects... as well as the scales on the hammer.
Same as before, the creative credit is definitely ~Faryndreyn's.
Inkscape - +3 hours (in addition to ~12 hours for v1)
you done it all in inkscape? Dam cool!
I just wait for an inkscape version with 2½-D bitmap manipulation/rendering plugin for map pixel art on/inside a vector-outline for perspective view.
As for you wanting something with dimension to map things onto... check out :http://www.rzuser.uni-heidelberg.de/~malbert/ (you can follow the links and skim pictures to get ideas of how it will work). It's one of our Google Summer of Code projects, and will effectively be the beginning of a system to make things 2.5D Yeah, it's starting with boxes, but it needs to start somewhere...
dam cool ! its not the thing i mean but will be very helpfull in the future too
I mostly mean the ability of map a texture(pixel picture) on a square and than catch a node and stretch to a trapezoid and the pixel filling is as well distorted (squeezed and stretched) but who know if that not will be a side effect.
this GSoC thing is more what i would call 3D for inkscape how far the description go.
Do you know also if someone have a export objects to a TTF proof of concept project in the works? Fontforge isn't handy and cant import svg ;-(
I do think that once we get the lib2geom geometry library hooked into inkscape, we'll be able to do mesh distorts and all kinds of crazy stuff If that will work for bitmaps though, I don't know.
As for fontforge, I just fired it up and it says it's able to import it... do you have the most current one?

Now... if we could only get you off of pixel art.
