This is based around *KatiBu's awesome Morrigan lineart. Her lineart is SOOOO freakin incredible, and I plan to do at least one other piece based on other lines she's done. And yes, the lineart was used with permission.
Everything was done 100% in Inkscape. It's the first time I've busted out the Tracing function in a deviation (which I did for the lineart and the moon). Total time is somewhere around 15 hours due to the number of changes I kept continually making. I also used a feature in inkscape that you guys won't really get to see until .44 (sorry, I didn't get it done in time for .43, which should be out the door very soon).
Honestly, the background and "effects" were REALLY rushed due to time constraints. Hope you enjoy it for what it is.
Wow her lineart mixed with your ability in Inkscape got AWESOME results. This is a trully gorgeous picture. THe small bright lights against the balck BG and the moo looks great. Everything about this just rocks.
Great work! The coloring and background/effects are very appealing. That gradient shadow bit from the hair is really nice. I feel like there should be just a tad more highlight on the right leg, though. It's great to see some variable line width! Autotrace is wonderful for doing lineart, because it picks up all those great details in the lines. Is the moon from OCAL?
the lighting is great! you did a great job on casting just enough shadows to be fairly accurate...which makes easier to see the peice as a whole... . .there's a moon out..and she's doing a dance in my pants. congrats!
